Old News

Latest artwork inspired by a picture I took during a family trip to Charlottesville, VA, a couple of years ago. I painted a series of newspaper vending boxes to illustrate their stark absoluteness. They were all stacked along an old brick wall, empty and abandoned. It was just after a rainy day, which added a dramatic atmosphere, with wet surfaces and darkened bricks amplifying the mood of solitude and stillneess. Forgotten, but they have stories to tell… I think I’m going to call it Old News.
